Mellor & Co was appointed to carry out the full internal plastering works for a luxury new-build residential property in Coedway, Shrewsbury. The project involved a timber frame 4-bedroom detached home and separate garage building with office space above. With clear architectural plans and a well-coordinated site, the build progressed smoothly and was delivered on time and within budget, aligning with the client’s expectations.
Challenges
High Ceilings & Awkward Geometry:
While the project was largely straightforward, the interior architecture posed some technical challenges. Several rooms featured high ceilings and vaulted spaces, requiring our team to work off scaffold and adapt to complex geometry, particularly in the stairwell. Angled ceiling lines and difficult-to-access corners demanded a high level of precision and craftsmanship to achieve the seamless, high-quality finish Mellor & Co is known for.
Working at Height:
Working at height always requires careful safety planning and disciplined execution. In this build, elevated ceiling levels and the stairwell void introduced extra risk. Our operatives used fixed scaffolding and mobile tower systems to access these spaces safely while maintaining quality and speed of work.
